Eden Race Drive is delighted to announce that Josh Malin will be joining the team this season, as he makes a return to the Pro class of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB.
The 23-year-old, who comes from Dorset in the UK, has competed in the series for parts of the past three seasons, scoring nine overall podiums, finishing third in the 2023 standings, and claimed one Rookie win and 14 podiums on his debut in 2021.
Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes as a four-year-old, he has refused to be restricted by the condition, taking MX5 Class titles as a teenager, and followed up with seven wins en route to the 2020 Ginetta GT4 Championship crown.
On his maiden Carrera Cup campaign Josh finished second in the Rookie Championship, while in 2022 he stepped in at late notice, despite not having driven the 992 version of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. Last season, he took third place in the standings after competing in just six of the eight weekends across the year.
Josh becomes the second driver to be announced at Eden Race Drive, which is making its debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB this year. Founded by professional Racing Driver and Coach Dino Zamparelli, the team will be battling in the Pro and Pro-Am classes this year, with further announcements still to come.
The 2024 season begins at Donington Park over the weekend of April 27/28 and takes in 16 races across eight meetings in support of the British Touring Car Championship, with at least one race broadcast live on ITV’s coverage each weekend.
Josh Malin
“I’m really excited to be returning to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and joining the team at Eden Race Drive to do my first full season of racing since 2021! I am eager to get going, and hopefully be in title contention this year. It won’t be easy, as this championship always sees a high level of racing, but I am confident I have a great team of people around me, and we are more than up for the challenge.”
Dino Zamparelli, Team Manager
“We’re really excited to confirm that Josh is joining Eden Race Drive for the 2024 season. He is naturally a very fast driver and, with the whole team behind him for the season, he will be ready for a title challenge in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB. We can’t wait to get started with him!”
