An experienced racing driver and coach, Dino Zamparelli is uniquely placed to be able to provide advice to aspiring and current racing drivers, thanks to his success behind the wheel of a variety of machinery.
Born in Bristol, with Italian heritage, his father, Mike, is a former F1 Powerboat racer, so it was no surprise he had a love of speed from the beginning, shooting around in a go-kart from the age of six!
The 30-year-old started his career at the age of 15, becoming the title holder in the Ginetta Junior Championship, scoring ten wins and 15 podiums, being named a BRDC Rising Star in the process.
Moving to single seaters, he finished third in Formula Renault BARC in 2009, securing his second career championship title with success in the series in 2011 – the year he was a finalist for the prestigious Autosport McLaren BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award.
A year later he moved up to the FIA Formula 2 Championship, scoring two podiums, and then joined the Formula 1-support GP3 Series, taking six podiums in 2014, before switching his focus to sports car racing.
He was runner up in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB for three seasons in a row, one of which he was tied on points with the champion. In his four total years in the series, he recorded 12 victories and 37 total podium finishes, also making two guest appearances in the Porsche Supercup.
As well as those series, the Bristolian has driven a variety of top-level machinery, including World Series by Renault, DTM, GP2 Series, GT3 and GT4, and historic cars, adding to his knowledge, which can then be passed on through coaching.
Since then, Dino has focussed on helping amateur and novice drivers achieve success on track. That has meant stints in the British GT Championship, GT Cup Championship, and GT Cup Open Europe, amongst others, while setting up Race Drive, putting that real knowledge and experience into the company’s products.
