Eden Race Drive is delighted to announce that Will Martin is joining the team for this season’s Porsche Carrera Cup GB, making it a five-strong line up for 2024.
The 21-year-old is no stranger to the series, having scored seven wins and 22 podiums during three years in the Carrera Cup between 2020 and 2022 – adding a couple of appearances last season.
Prior to that, Will started car racing in the Ginetta Junior Championship aged 15, quickly becoming a regular in the top ten. The following season he won 9 of the 16 races, finishing third in the standings at the end of the year.
In 2023 he headed across the Atlantic, competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America, where he took race wins on the streets of Long Beach, at Watkins Glen, and Laguna Seca, adding podiums at Sebring, Miami, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Will joins teammates Oli White, Harry Foster, Josh Malin, and Will Aspin at Eden Race Drive – a team founded by experienced and successful racer Dino Zamparelli, which is making its debut appearance in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB this season.
The campaign begins this weekend on the Donington Park National circuit, with practice taking place on Thursday 25th April, followed by qualifying on Saturday 27th. There will be two 24 lap races on Sunday 28th, with live coverage on ITV4 and ITVX in the UK and worldwide on the ITV Sport TikTok channel.
Will Martin
“It was great to race in the US and have that experience, but it’s exciting to come back to the UK where there’s unfinished business, and I think we’ll have a good shot at it. Some people might think as a new team, they won’t expect a lot from Eden Race Drive, but we have some really experienced personnel and mechanics who know what they’re doing, so with some strong drivers, we have a chance.
“The title is the aim for me as in 2022 I was fighting for the championship all the way through, so hopefully we can go better this year and take home the big trophy. I’d also like to thank MT Drains – who have been a big help in getting this deal over the line – and Lining Division, who have been a big supporter of me.”
Dino Zamparelli, Team Manager
“It’s exciting to welcome Will to the Eden Race Drive for 2024 as he aims for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB title. He’s proven that he is quick in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, with victories in the UK and USA and, with unfinished business, will be one to watch. We’ve put together a strong line-up and cannot wait to get started at Donington Park!”
