Race Drive is set to tackle the second round of the Porsche Club Motorsport Championship, on the challenging and legendary Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit this Saturday (April 29).
All four of the teams’ drivers; Shiraz Khan, Paul Simpson, Colin Tester, and Perry Darling, should be in action this time out, after electrical woes side-lined Colin last time out, while Perry was unable to take part.
Opening the season at Donington Park at the start of the month, the team had to battle adversity, with the problem on Colin’s car causing headaches, while Shiraz continued to learn the intricacies of racing on slick tyres and Paul makes his push for the Class 2 title, with his eyes on racing a Cayman in future seasons.
With eyes on a fresh start at Brands Hatch, the team will be pressing for strong results on a circuit where the drivers have enjoyed success in the past, with Paul a previous winner, and Colin vastly experienced around the Kent venue.
Race Drive Motorsport will head out for qualifying first thing in the morning, at 09:00, with race one set for 12:15 and race two at 15:00, both of which will be 25 minutes in length. Porsche Club members, meanwhile, can save 20% on tickets to watch the action, by logging into the website.
Dino Zamparelli
“We’re excited to getting back out on track with our Porsches for the second round of the season. Donington Park was a tricky one, but everyone worked hard and has continued to do so since then, so we’re upbeat about this weekend.
“It’s a learning year for some of the drivers in the team, so we will keep analysing their time out on track, identifying areas for improvement, and pushing forward to help them achieve their goals behind the wheel. The Porsche Club championships are a great place to do this and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone in the paddock this weekend.”
